In July 2016, a 12-month pilot study was initiated at the Invercannie Water Treatment Works in Scotland. Scottish Water uses this site and source to test the SIX®-process initially. If successful, Scottish Water will most likely want to test others sources and sites as well. This pilot includes SIX®, ILCA®, and CeraMac®. The River Dee is typical for a lot of sources in Scotland, flashy and can contain significant high levels of color and suspended materials, which can cause the existing works to shut down. The pilot aims to evaluate the reliability of these treatment processes on this challenging source, as well as confirm the finished water quality. Initial test runs with coagulation have shown an impressive stable membrane operation, and this will be optimized in the Spring of 2017.
